Turkmenistan Approves National TB Communication Strategy
Turkmenistan’s newly approved communication strategy outlines social mobilization, information, and communication activities to be conducted as part of the National TB Program, and is widely expected to become an essential element in the country’s fight against TB. The strategy was developed by a working group comprised of representatives from the National TB Program, the Ministry of Health Press Center, State Medical Institute faculty, World Health Organization, the USAID TB program, and other state and international partner organizations. Turkmenistan’s Minister of Health recently signed the strategy, providing the approval needed to launch its implementation.
