USAID Hosts Rep. McCollum for International Women's Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will host U.S. Representative Betty McCollum from Minnesota and a distinguished panel of speakers to honor International Women's Day. The event will take place at the USAID headquarters in the Ronald Reagan Building on March 10.

The event, entitled "Women: A Driving Force for Economic Recovery" is an opportunity to recognize the important role that women around the world play as drivers of economic growth and recovery.

WHAT:

Representative Betty McCollum from Minnesota will give the keynote address. Followed by a distinguished panel of speakers to include:

  • Mark Blackden, Consultant, International Finance Corporation
  • Mary Ellen Iskenderian, President, Women's World Banking
  • Ellie Larson, Executive Director, Solidarity Center
  • Linda Wertheimer, National Public Radio
